The methylation of the GynTect\u00ae biomarkers occurs specifically in cervical cancer or its precursors, but not in healthy cervical tissue. This molecular biological cancer test is a further development of GynTect\u00ae. For ScreenYu Gyn\u00ae, only one biomarker, i.e., a methylated DNA region, is detected in cervical smear samples, along with a control marker. Thus, only one PCR reaction is necessary per smear sample.
